Liz McGregor is an author and journalist.  She has an MA from the University of the Witwatersrand. She was co-writer on  No Valley Without Shadows: MSF and the Fight for Affordable ARVs in South Africa. Her other books include Springbok Factory: What it takes to be  a Bok (Jonathan Ball Publishers), Touch, Pause, Engage!: Exploring the Heart of South African Rugby and Khabzela. Inbetween, she co-edited and contributed essays to Load-shedding and At Risk: Writing on and over the Edge of South Africa. She is co-author of No Valley Without Shadows: MSF and the Fight for Affordable ARVs in South Africa. Her career as a journalist has included several years as deputy editor of the Comment Pages in the Guardian in London and reporting for the UK Independent and the Observer from South Korea and, more recently,  compiling live conference blogs: www.whatsupanc.blogspot.com and www.whatsuphiv.blogspot.com. She is a Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Humanities in Africa (HUMA) at the University of Cape Town and is writing a book on inequality in South Africa.
